VISIT THE OLD CITY

The Walled City of Lahore is the cultural and historical center of the city. Established in 1000 CE as a fortified city, it rose to prominence as a Mughal Capital with the establishment of the Lahore Fort, Mirror Palace, Shalimar Gardens, and Badshahi Mosque. It was then, selected as the capital again under the Sikh Empire and is known as the cultural and touristic heart of Lahore.
Many sites in this area are UNESCO sites, and the buildings in the Walled City of Lahore illustrate the history of one of the world's oldest cities first hand.
